The Hawaii Foundation celebrated its 3rd Annual Gala Event on July 29th at the Japanese Culture Center, Manoa Grand Ballroom. Over 200 people attended the event.
The guests of honor were Ron Komine, Sr. - ASA Hawaii's first Umpire in Chief to surpass 300 umpire registrations in one year, Herbert Paleka, Jr. - Hawaii's first umpire to recieve recognition by the International Softball Federation and Leilani Okuda -Hawaii's first umpire to umpire in the Olympics.
Maegan Tupinio of Leilehua High School and Nalani Antonio of Saint Francis School, the recipients of the 2012 HSF Scholarships, and their families were also in attendance.
The Gala Event raised over $5,000.00 which will help fund the many programs of the Hawaii Softball Foundation.
